Throughout his illustrious career, Bennie earned numerous awards and patents for his inventive spirit, showcasing his dedication to creativity and problem-solving. His work with the Department of Defense exemplified his commitment to service, innovation and defending our country. Bennie was known as a quintessential cowboy, often seen donning his favorite hat—a symbol of his spirited personality and love for rural life. He cherished Bluegrass music, expressing his passion through the sounds of the mandolin, which he played with joy and enthusiasm. He sang with a beautiful baritone voice.
As a husband, Bennie shared a loving partnership with Marlene Denney Macomber for 65 wonderful years. Together, they built a life rich in love and support. He was a wonderful father to his son, Michael Macomber and his wife Demetra, and his daughter, Brenda Macomber and her partner Barbara Ann. Bennie's legacy extends to his grandchildren, Joshua Macomber and his wife Aly, and Matthew Macomber, as well as to his great-grandson, Elijah Macomber, each of whom carry forward the values and love he instilled in them.
Bennie is also survived by his sisters, Janette Haley and her husband Ben, and Marilyn Ming. These family bonds were an integral part of his life, and he treasured the moments spent with them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Macomber and Mabel Ipe Macomber, who laid the foundation for his strong values and character.
Bennie Dean Macomber leaves behind a legacy of integrity, creativity, and love for family, music and animals. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
