Belinda Lee Cooper Fort

Belinda Lee Cooper Fort, 67, of Nebo, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023 at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center.

She was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 13, 1956 to the late Joseph Cooper and Patricia Stevens Cooper. A son, Patrick Ackerman and a brother, Raymond Koopman, also precede her in death.

Belinda worked for many years as a hairdresser. Following this, she became a dog groomer, a job she truly enjoyed. From an early age, Belinda enjoyed working with animals of all kinds. She trained dobermans, showcased horses, and shared her skills by teaching riding to Girl Scouts. Belinda also joined the parade circuit in California in her younger years. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is survived by her husband, Randy Fort; two children, Joel Ackerman and Logan Fort; three grandchildren, Brian Ackerman, Blythe Ackerman, and Carrie Ackerman; and five siblings, Joe Cooper, Eric Cooper, Sandra Crawford, Monica White, and Tracy Swink.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon in the Mausoleum Chapel of Burke Memorial Park. A celebration of Belinda's life will follow at 12:00 noon.
