Barbara Conley

On the morning of Saturday, November 28, 2020, loving and wonderful mother and grandmother, Barbara Faucette Conley, age 87, of Marion, North Carolina, departed to be with the Lord at Autumn Care of Marion.  The daughter of the late Thomas and Lela Mae Nichols Faucette, she was born in McDowell County, North Carolina on February 10, 1933.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Sephus Conley, Sr., who passed away February 21, 2012; three brothers, Charlie, Thomas and Leroy; and two sisters, Annlee and Orea.

A member of Addie’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Marion, Barbara enjoyed playing the piano and singing in the choir.  She was a lay speaker and was part of the Conley Family and Gospelettes, both of Marion.  Barbara absolutely loved her kids, working in her fish pond, and in her yard or garden.

Left to cherish her precious memories are her three sons, Joe Conley, Jr. and his wife, Opal, Jeff Conley and his wife, Gwen and Greg Conley and his wife, Felicia; ten grandchildren, Sonya, Latoya, Camillia “MiMi”, Mario, Jeffery, Jr., Andre, Greg, Jr., Alan, Justin and Jocelyn; eleven great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews; along with many other family members and friends. 

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 02, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Walter Pegues officiating.  Interment will follow at McDowell Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
