Barbara Arney

On the afternoon of Sunday, December 23, 2018, following a long and hard battle with cancer, Barbara Hall Arney, age 39, of Marion, North Carolina, departed to be with the Lord at her residence.  Her loving family was by her side.  Barbara was born July 3, 1979 in McDowell County, North Carolina to Joan Anderson Strickland of Marion and to the late Paul Hall, who passed away November 11, 2015.

Barbara loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Mattie.  She loved everyone and wanted be loved.  When able, she enjoyed making fairy gardens. 

In addition to her mother, those left behind to cherish Barbara’s memories are her husband of 4 years, Johnny Arney; two beloved children, Cody Lamb (Shellie) and Joseph Davidson; one granddaughter, Mattie Lamb; one brother, David Cauthen; and one nephew, Nathaniel Cauthen.  Barbara is also survived by many friends that she had touched and who had followed her during her journey with cancer. 

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service in Marion.  Mrs. Jennifer Galloway and Mr. Greg Blackburn will be officiating.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
