Arthur "Buster" Eugene Butler, Jr.

Arthur “Buster” Eugene Butler, Jr., 64, of Asheville, NC went home to be with the Lord on September 26, 2023.

Arthur was a loving and caring person who had a deep devotion to his family and faith. Buster’s faith was an important part of his life and he found peace and strength in his Lord Jesus Christ. Buster was a lifelong member of Mount Zion Church and was always inviting people to come to church and receive the Lord’s blessings.

Arthur is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Eugene Butler and Mary Marie Butler; sisters, Doris Fender, Pidge Willis, Carol Ann Narehood, Sandi Worley; and a brother, Gene Butler.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Cynthia; a brother, John Henry Cordel; a sister, Carolyn Camby; his only child, Zackery Tyler; step son, Jamee Phillips; step daughter, Allison Gregg (Tommy Gregg); grandchildren, Hali Jones (Dillon Jones), Liliana Gregg, Levi Phillips, Kayleigh Phillips; and great grandchild, Alivia Jones.

Arthur was the owner and operator of AB Roofing in Asheville for twenty five years. He always took great pride in his work and will be remembered by the community for his hard work and dedication in the roofing industry. Outside of his career, Buster found joy in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He had a special bond with them and treasured every moment they spent together. Buster’s love also extended beyond his family, as he had a deep affection for his dog, Marley.

A service to honor Arthur’s life will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Zion Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family would like to encourage a donation to Arthur’s lifelong church, Mount Zion Church.
