Arnold Lee Robinson

Arnold L. Robinson, age 87, of Marion, passed away on the night of Sunday, August 06, 2017 with his family by his side at Autumn Care of Marion.  The son of the late William and Pearl McIntosh Robinson, he was born in Cleveland County, North Carolina on November 28, 1929. 

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy J. Elkins Robinson; one daughter Sandra Kay Cannon; and granddaughter, Michelle Leigh Foley.

A loving father, grandfather and brother, Arnold loved his family, especially his grandchildren.  He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and mowing his yard, which to him was relaxing.  He was a member of Carson Chapel Baptist Church in Barnardsville; and up until his health began to decline, was attending Hefner Memorial Baptist Church in North Cove.

Arnold is survived by his seven children, Mary Elkins, Wanda Dixon (George), Judy Robinson, Patricia Dillon, Carolyn Pannell (Robin), Gary Robinson (Ann) and Janet Fisher (Allen); one brother, Denson Robinson; and two sisters, Meldeen Shufford and Julie Mae Caldwell.  He is also survived by six grandchildren, Amanda Gress (Michael), Brian Woodby, Mary Beth Goforth (Christian), Ashley Robinson, Christopher Robinson (Brittney) and Makayla Fisher; and eight great grandchildren, Jamie, Hunter, Landon, Kerstyn, Brooklynn, Leah, Carson and Kaylee.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 08, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service & Crematory.

A funeral service to honor the life of Arnold will be held on Wednesday, August 09, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Revs. Chad Wise and Jack Crain officiating.  Burial will be follow in the Ashford-North Cove Community Cemetery.
