Archie Edward Tyo

Archie Edward Tyo, age 69, of Cornelius, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on the afternoon of Friday, April 16, 2021.  Born on February 19, 1952, he was the son of Otis Archie and Garnet Malcolm Tyo.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Tyo Turner.

Archie was a former deacon at Thrift Baptist Church in Cornelius, NC and was employed with United Mechanical Corporation of Charlotte for 18 years where he was a leader, mentor and friend to all.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, trivia, jigsaw puzzles and John Wayne movies.  He loved his family and his dogs, Cooper, Leo, and Max.  Archie was a loving husband and father, committed to family and was a driven leader and provider. 

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Joanne Ledbetter Tyo; his three daughters, Melissa Tyo of Huntersville, Jill Tyo of Charlotte, Kelsey Tyo of Cornelius; and his son, Grayson Tyo of Cornelius. 

Also surviving are his sister, Naomi Hollifield (Leroy), brother, Tunis Tyo, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 23, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, 16901 Old Statesville Road, Huntersville, NC 28078.  The funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM.  Interment will be held at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212.
