Annie Marie Swann

Annie Marie Porras Swann, 75, of Spruce Pine, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital.

A native of New Mexico, Annie was born on June 30, 1945 to the late Abraham and Pilar Macias Porras.

Having retired from Ethan Allen and previously worked as a nurse at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital, Annie had a true servant’s heart. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A loving wife, Annie was supportive of her late husband’s, Samuel Dean Swann, military career. She was the leader of the Family Support Group for the 211th military police during Desert Storm. She truly loved the Lord and was a member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her precious memories are her three children, Terri Hughes and husband Allen, Starla Perkins and husband Tony, and Bill Swann and wife Michelle; five grandchildren, Kayla Ponder, Kyle Ponder, Jessie Laws and husband Josh, Colton Swann, and Dustin Swann; two great grandchildren, Baylee Tipton and Gabe Laws; and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins, including a special cousin, Eddie Clark.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
