Annie Ellison Brown

Annie Ellison Brown, 90, of Marion, went Home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center in Asheville.

She was born in Cocke County Tennessee on May 23, 1933 to the late Fred Ellison and Nancy Ann Hall Ellison. Her husband, Fred Thomas Brown, and nine siblings also precede her in death.

Annie was formerly employed with the R.L. James Hosiery Mill. She was a longtime member of West Court Baptist Church. She loved singing gospel hymns, and she was also a talented musician, especially with a guitar and omnichord. Annie enjoyed quilting and working word search puzzles. She will be remembered for her excellent cooking that she shared with her family and friends. She was married for 66 years to the late Fred Brown. Their strong faith and love for each other will forever be cherished by their family.

She is survived by seven children, Nancy Suttles (Max), Cindy Elliott (Dennis), Linda Robinson (Jimmy), Debbie Boone (David), Tom Brown (Paige), Robert Earl Brown, and Ricky Brown (Misty); nineteen grandchildren; thirty-five great grandchildren; one sister, Nina Brewer; sister-in-law, Dot Mace; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 12:00 noon at West Court Baptist Church. Pastor Jeff Burchette will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon at the church.
