Anna Moore Roland

Anna Moore Roland, 89, of Marion, departed this life on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at Autumn Care of Marion. 

She was born at home in the Montford Cove Community on November 10, 1935 to the late Ransom Moore and Elsie Williams Moore. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Coleman Roland; three children, Mary Ann Mathis, Billy Ray White, and Donna Jean White; and five siblings, Earl Moore, Joyce Bailey, Donald Moore, Dennis Moore, and Hicks Moore.

Anna enjoyed gardening and working with her flowers. She loved the beauty of God’s creation, and it did her heart good to watch the butterflies and hummingbirds. Anna loved a good shopping spree and a meal out to eat. She enjoyed cutting up with her family and friends. Anna will be remembered for her wonderful, contagious smile, as well as her sense of humor. She loved her family, especially each one of her grandchildren, and will be dearly missed by all.

She is survived by three children, James “Jimmy” Lee White, Peggy White Roland, and Wilma Faye White Webb; one sister, Elizabeth “Lib” Hunley; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Pastor Ronnie Gentry officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior, from 3:00 until 4:00 p.m. Burial will be at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
