Dawn Mathes Martin

Dawn Mathes Martin of Morganton, North Carolina passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Carolinas Healthcare-Blue Ridge. A native of Burke County, Dawn was born on May 10, 1966 to the late Ralph and Louise Webb Mathes.

Dawn attended Glenwood Independent Baptist Church and was known for her good sense of humor and infectious smile. She was a self-less person and was always helping others. She loved her family especially the grandchildren where her proudest title was “Nanny”.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, William Scotty Martin; two children, Amanda Jones (Brian) and Brittany Senters; one brother, Jack Mathes; one sister, Linda Dyson and four grandchildren, Brennon, Addison, Jaxson and Cooper.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 3:30 p.m. at Glenwood Independent Baptist Church with Reverends T Jay Addison and Larry Gentry officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service at Beam Funeral Service. Interment will follow the service at the Glenwood Independent Church Cemetery.
