Amy Elizabeth Grant

October 1, 1963 — October 15, 2019

Amy “Amo” Elizabeth Grant, a native of McDowell County, passed away at her residence in the Glenwood Community, Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019, at the age of 55. She was born in McDowell County, Dec. 1, 1963.
Marion is cited as “Where Main Street Meets the Mountains”, but she made home her own way. Her passion for horses, gardening, cooking, art, Elvis Presley, and family, made her more than just an average McDowell County native.

She was a veterinary technician for Dr. Wagner in Black Mountain for 15 years. Her love for her animals over the years, brought a special character to her, and that character is that you can love any animal and anyone. She was known to make the best pound cakes, gift Native American themed jewelry to family, building puzzles, always being around her animals, which cannot be over-exaggerated.

She is survived by her only son, Joseph Bronson Gordon; brother, Chris Grant; parents, Charlotte and Freddie Grant; sister-in-law, Sandra Grant; nephews, Tyler and Colby Grant; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held in her honor in the near future. She loved everyone, and she will be missed and loved by everyone she knew.
