Alvin "Tom" Reese

Alvin “Tom” Reese, age 70, of Marion, passed away on Thursday, October 06, 2016 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville.  A native of McDowell County, North Carolina, born December 17, 1945, he was the son of the late Carsie and Artha Sowers Reese. 

Tom, who loved working with older cars and on motors, was co-owner of Barnes & Reese Racing Engines.  He was a member of Clinchfield Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Dianne Radford Reese; and one brother, Charles Ray Reese. 

Tom is survived by one daughter, Candice Reese; one sister, Betty Reese Smith; one grandson, Aiden Reese; two nieces, Reane Morgan (Trey) and Lynn Fullbright (Chris); and two nephews, Larry Smith and Brad Smith (Jennifer).

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 10, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at New Horizon Baptist Fellowship in Marion. A celebration to honor the life of Tom will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the church with Revs. Phil Murdock, Harold McNabb and Richard Anderson officiating.
