Allen R. "Chick" Causby

Allen R. “Chick” Causby, age 71, of the Dysartsville Community, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016.  A lifelong resident of McDowell County, North Carolina, born February 2, 1945, he was the son of Mildred Freeman Causby and the late Jay H. Causby.  In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by one brother, Curtis Causby.

Allen is survived by, in addition to his mother; loving wife, Barbara Toler Causby; one son, Bill Causby (Lisa); two daughters, Carol Causby (Shawn) and Sharon Seagle; three step children, Melissa Clemens (Andrew), Amanda Epling; and Travis Epling (Wendy); four siblings, Jerry Cosby (Maxine), Loretta Causby, Peggy Poplin (Don); and Richard Causby (Denise); six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, six step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.  He is also survived by his extended family.

A celebration of Allen’s life will be held Sunday, April 17, 2016 at 4:00 P.M. at Trinity United Methodist Church with Elder Kerry Lathrup and Mr. Josh Dobson officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., two hours prior to the service, at the church.
