Alisa Lachelle Rutherford

Alisa Lachelle Rutherford, 57, of Marion, departed this life on Monday, July 1, 2024 at Mission Hospital in Asheville.

She was born in Marion on October 26, 1966 to the late Irene Elizabeth Hardy O’Neil Rutherford Wilkerson and Arell Rutherford, Sr.

Alisa will be remembered for her free spirit, her contagious laugh, and bright smile. She enjoyed capturing the beauty of life through photography, and she never failed to see the beauty in a sunrise or sunset. Alisa took great pride in her home. She was always well put together and never left the house without her hair and make-up done. She enjoyed traveling and seeing new places with her family when she was able. More than anything else, she loved her family. She was lovingly called “Angel Nanna” by her grandchildren. She will always be the world’s greatest Nanna, Momma, Best Friend, and Sister.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a brother, Keith Rutherford; a nephew, Gerron Conley; and a niece, India Rutherford.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Joseph Rutherford (Tina) and Shidavia Rutherford; four grandchildren, Azalynn, Brylan, Lorenzo, and Joseph Jr.; five siblings, Sherry Wilkerson (Bubba), Donna Lomio (Tony), Curtis Rutherford, Arell Rutherford, Jr. (Libby), and Angela Rutherford; and her father, Arell Rutherford, Sr.

The family will hold a memorial service on Friday, July 5, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. at Chambers Chapel Baptist Church.
