Alice Ann Riley Sewell, 91, of Nebo, passed away Monday, March 18, 2024 at Deer Park Health and Rehabilitation surrounded by family.
She was born in Clarkston, Georgia on April 20, 1932 to the late Claude Henry “Red” Riley and Frances “Kitty Kate” McLendon Riley.
Alice Ann was wholly devoted to her family. She put them first in all she did. She had a passion and true talent for gardening and was a Master Gardener. She enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling, and working crossword puzzles. She formerly worked for Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte as a Medical Secretary. Alice Ann lived a long, full life and will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her three children, Kathryn Sewell Rice, Joseph “Joe” Sewell and daughter-in-law, Leigh Sewell, and Suzanne Sewell; six grandchildren, Kyle Rice, Jeremy Rice, Alex Rice, Branch Sewell, Elizabeth Takla, and Beatrice Sewell; three great grandchildren and one on the way; her brother, James “Jack” Henry Riley and sister-in-love, Jean Riley; and her beloved cat, Lavender.
The family will hold a private service at a later date.
