Alice May Schmidt

Alice May Schmidt, age 76, died Friday, April 28, 2017 at Deer Park Health & Rehab in Nebo.  Alice was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 3, 1940 to the late Frederick Goudie and Ruby Mildred Davis Goudie and was a resident of Tucson, Arizona for many years prior to moving to North Carolina.

Alice received her nursing degree after graduating from high school and after getting married, she returned to college to receive her accounting degree.  She retired from Spitzer Tax and Accounting in Tucson, AZ.  When her health permitted, she attended St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.

Alice is survived by a daughter, Eva Sharp, of Marion; a son, Kevin Schmidt (Jean), of Hamilton, OH; two sisters, Mary Fancil, of Canton, MI and Kathy Marshall, of Garland, TX; four grandchildren, Chrystal McCormick, David Fox and Kayla Sharp and two great-grandchildren, Justane Fox and Alyssa Jade.

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husbands, Duane Schmidt and Gary “Jake” Jacobs and a grandson, Alex Schmidt.

A memorial service to celebrate Alice’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, May 5, 2017 in the chapel of Beam Funeral Service.  

The family will receive friends following the service.
