Alice Fay Penland

In the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 02, 2019, while surrounded by her loved ones, Alice Penland, age 65, passed away at her daughter’s home in Nebo. The daughter of the late Arville and Carmen Sherlin Honeycutt, she was born in McDowell County, North Carolina on March 18, 1954.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brothers, Buddy and Tommy Honeycutt; sisters Barbara Davis, Kay Buchanan and Libby Wilson; one son Shane Penland.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Alice was a member of Dysartsville Church of Christ; She loved her family and enjoyed making memories and spending time with her family.

Alice is survived by her husband of 50 years; Glenn Penland; one son; Kevin Penland (Dottie); one daughter; Missie Stevens (Bill Stevens); granddaughters; Megan Stevens and Malorie Jones (James Jones III); sister Mary Hudgins (Carrol).

A graveside service to remember Mrs. Penland’s life will be on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at McDowell Memorial Park. Everyone is welcome to come celebrate Mrs. Alice.
