Albert E. Davis

Albert E. Davis, age 77, of Nebo, North Carolina, departed to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 5th, 2020 at Mountain Ridge Health & Rehabilitation in Black Mountain.  The son of the late Paul Lawrence and Mozelle Johnson Davis, he was born in McDowell County on March 13, 1943.  He was also preceded in death by one brother, Paul Lawrence Davis, Jr. 

An amazing and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Albert retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad, and following retirement he started his own satellite installation business.  Albert was a classic car collector and enjoyed going to car shows.  He truly loved attending his children’s athletic and sporting events as they were growing up and was a strong supporter of them.  He attended Glenwood Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Brenda Davis; three sons, Greg Davis, Paul Davis and his wife, Janet and Tony Davis and his wife, Melissa; one daughter, Dottie Davis, and her husband, RJ Beatty; seven grandchildren, Mindy Davis, Wendy Davis, Adam Davis (Roz), Madalyn Davis, Matthew Davis (Ashley), Chad Davis (Rachel) and Brandon Davis (Alecia); and eight great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 9th, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Glenwood Baptist Church with Dr. Dennis Love officiating.  Interment will follow at Murphy’s Chapel Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.
